Majestic Dragon: Reviews and where to look

February 29, 2012 Leave a comment

2.29.12 Card Review. Today is an EPIC MATHUP DAY! Head over there this afternoon for the awesome matchup. Please also lik always, look at the new contest and announcements. Enjoy!

Majestic Dragon may seem like a very small card, but really it can be a game changer in certain decks! So lets take a look at one helpful tiny dragon, Majestic Dragon!

Majestic Dragon is really rare, so it’s almost $25!

Well, there’s not too much to say abou this very expensive and particular card. With 0 attack and 0 defense, it’s useless in the field of attack, defense, and just plain battle, as it can’t attack. There are no summoning conditions at all, because it is a level 1 monster, so you can just summon it when you need it. And it’s ability is very particular, and it only works for two cards. You can’t use this card as synchro material, unless for the synchro summon of a majestic monster. So pretty much, unless your going to tune this with stardust dragon or red dragon archfiend, you can’t bring this to the field with a purpose. Because it’s so weak and particular, it really can be annoying in a last minute situation. But for it’s purpose, it’s needed, but only in a deck that can summon majestic red or star dragon(s).

What it reads:

Just so you know, this is what the card says:

This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a “Majestic” monster.

Where to look:

Try eBay, or get it from a friend if your lucky.

My Rating (out of 5*’s)

Because it’s so specific for what it wants, it lost 3 stars, and because of it’s weakness. But if your in a deck with majestic dragons, than this is a need.

Thunder End Dragon: Reviews and where to look

February 28, 2012 Leave a comment

Card Review 2.28.12. I’m sorry for being sick for some time with a bad flu. Please check out the newly updated announcements and finish up the contest. At noon today, i will not, I repeat, NOT accept anymore contest ideas.

Thunder End Dragon is an epic card that has power to spare, and isn’t even a number! So lets take a look at a promo new card, Thunder End Dragon.

Thunder End Dragon is new, but not a tin feature card, so it can get pretty pricey. Most likely in the $10 range.

Thunder End Dragon is one of the best new XYZ’s, and it’s not even a number card! With 3000 attack and 2000 defense, this card is packed with power! It can even take down leviathan dragon! But summoning is brutal. You have to overlay 2 level 8 monsters to summon it! But it’s so worth it, because of it’s broken strong ability. You see, after laboring to get 2 level 8’s on the field, once per turn, you can detach one overlay unit from this card, and than you can annihilate all other monsters on the field! And to top it all off, it can take out anything else with it’s 3000 attack! But is it worth it to get 2 level 8’s on the field to summon this card, just so you can bomb the field? With only 2 overlay units, it’s sorta tough to use the ability in any other time than a desperate situation, otherwise your just wasting. Plus, when you use the ability, you destroy your monsters as well as your opponents (besides Thunder End Dragon). You need a combination of a beat-stick deck and a swarming deck to summon this, otherwise it’s useless. I’m not sure it’s completely worthwhile.

What it reads:

2 Level 8 Normal Monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card;destroy all other monsters on the field.

Where to look:

Try eBay, or be lucky and buy packs from a store.

My Rating (out of 5*’s)

I think it only gets 4*’s because of it’s ridiculous summoning conditions, and it’s backfiring ability. What a waste of time. There’s much better XYZ’s.

Call of the Haunted: Reviews and where to look

February 22, 2012 Leave a comment

Call of the haunted is even better then a monster reincarnation, and is a crazy good card. So lets take a look at THE best revival card, Call of the Haunted.

Call of the haunted is pretty old, but because of its mass production point, you shouldn’t have to pay more than $7.

This may just be the best revival card in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh, and soon you’ll see why. Because it’s not a monster card, you can’t worry about attack or defense, which is nice. Also, because its not a monster, it doesn’t have any summoning conditions to talk about right now. And it’s ability is amazing! You can pick one monster in your graveyard, and special summon it in face up attack position! But when this card is destroyed, the monster is destroyed, and when the monster is destroyed, this is destroyed. It’s a bit of a shakey trade off, but this is still an amazing card. Make sure you have something with lasting attack in your grave, otherwise your going to run into some problems. Also, because this card acts like a tether to the monster, and the monster does the same, make sure you have protection set up for this card. Cards like shooting star dragon are really nice with cards like this. It may not be a moster reborn, but it’s still really good.

What it reads:

Target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target inface-up Attack Position. When this card leaves the field, destroythat target. When that target is destroyed, destroy this card.

Where to look:

Try eBay, Amazon, or BBToys.

My Rating (out of 5*’s):

Because it can destroy the monster when it’s destroyed, it lost half a star, but otherwise, this is a really good card!

Should Konami Stop The Ban List?

February 22, 2012 Leave a comment

This is a very simple, and 2 sided discussion: should TCG, OCG, and Konami continue the tournament ban list? Many people think that it is unfair to ban certain cards, as a tournament version should be made. Or, should it be perfectly fair. Also, are there certain cards that shouldn’t be banned, or should have a tournament version? You can discuss in the comments. I can’t wait to join in!

Thor, Lord of the Aesir: Reviews and where to look

February 21, 2012 Leave a comment

2.21.12 Card Review. Please compete in the new contest and view the announcements before going anywhere else, because they are fresh and new.

Thor is one of the most argued cards in all of Yu-Gi-Oh. Dragan crushed with it, and you can too if you use it right. So lets look at Thor, Lord of the Aesir.

Thor is getting old, and rare, so it’s about $6, at the best.

Dragan managed to beat everyone with this card, and in a correct deck, it does insane damage. With 3500 attack and a destructive 2800 defense, this card is just plain raw power. But it’s like a weird double tuner to summon, because you have to tune 1 nordic beast tuner with 2 or more non tuner monster. But it’s ability makes up for it and more. Once per turn, you can negate the effects of all face up monsters your opponent controls, until the end phase! During the end phase, if this card was destroyed by battle from one of your opponents monsters or card effects, and sent to the grave, you can remove from play one nordic beast tuner in your graveyard, and special summon this card to the field from the grave! And when that effect is activated, the best part kicks in, and your opponent takes 800 points of damage! Thor does really well in a Nordic beast deck so make sure you have one, or else this card is pretty much useless. Also, this card can annihilate if you have the other Nordic gods, as they work as a swarming chain and summon each other well. Because of it’s ability, spells and traps can’t hurt it ether!

What the card reads:

Just so you know, this is what it says.

1 “Nordic Beast” Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, you can negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent controls, until the End Phase. During the End Phase, if this face-up card on the field was destroyed by your opponent’s card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyardthis turn, you can remove from play 1 “Nordic Beast” Tuner monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. When it is Special Summoned by this effect, inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

Where to look:

Try Amazon or eBay.

My Rating (out of 5*’s):

Because it’s immune to spells and traps, and is near invincible, it got 5*’s.

Should We Have Made a Shooting Quasar Dragon Card?

February 20, 2012 1 comment

Although you may not know it, we didn’t actually get the whole 5D’s arc. Instead, they had to cut it off, for some stupid reason. Now, in the final arc Yusei wins by summoning a card called shooting quasar dragon. It apparently wasn’t made because we didn’t get the final arc, as well as quite a few other cards. But should we have?

Pretty sick looking, huh? Now, the only way to get it is through the rougher, more black market like part of eBay, or through some other means. It was only released to chrome promo members of shonen jump, so only about 10,000 copies were issued. But should it have been available to all? And should we have gotten the last of 5D’s. Discuss that in the comments. I can’t wait to join in.
