Number 61: Volcasaurus: Reviews and where to look

2.20.12 Card Review. Please look at the evening announcements and compete in contests before sending

Volcasaurus is an extremely new card, that made its first debut in the last episode of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal. It towers with it’s insane power, so lets look at this new superpower, Volcasaurus.

Look:

Volcasaurus isn’t available in the US Yet! But, my estimate is it will probably be around $4- $12.

Review:

Here it comes, the all new Volcasaurus, which debuted on saturday, 2.19.12. Although it hasn’t had US production yet, I’m still going to talk about it, since it will soon be released in a tin, most likely in two weeks. But on with it. Volcasaurus has 2500 attack and 1000 defense, making it able to put weaker monsters in check, while it’s ability destroys the stronger ones. The problem is summoning. You need to overlay 2 level 5 monsters to summon this, and that can be very hard to do, which is why swarming decks with cards like cyber dragon help. But the ability makes up for it by a lot. You see, once per turn you can detach one overlay unit, and in return, you can pick one of your opponents monsters, and destroy it. To top it all off, you also inflict that monsters attack points to there life points! The problem: if you use that effect, you can’t attack that turn, which can be a bummer, but because it can keep Volcasaurus safe, it’s more than worth it. Volcasaurus can be hard to summon because of it’s ability, so this goes best in a deck that can get you 2 level 5’s fast. Also, only use it’s overlay ability if somethings stronger is managed to be summoned, otherwise you’ll be out of overlay units when you need them most!

Card Translation:

Just so you know, this is what the card reads when translated:

2 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card totarget 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy the target, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster’soriginal ATK. This card cannot attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect.

Where to look:

You can’t buy it yet, unless you want it in Japanese, which is an arm and a leg, but cooler.

My Rating (out of 5*’s):

RankStar.svgRankStar.svgRankStar.svgRankStar.svg (like the new stars)?

Because it needs two level 5’s, and can’t attack the turn you get rid of an overlay unit, it lost a star, but it’s still AMAZING.

U Rate it!:

Now you guys can give your own ratings! How good do you think this card is? Here is where you can do it.

Awesome card, I was down to 500 Life Points on duelingnetwork.com, and my opponent had 4000 Life Points with Meklord Army of Grannel and Meklord Astro Mechanicle on his field. Nothing on mine, so I Special Summoned Earth Armor Ninja using his effect and normal summoned Gagaga Magician, then brought out Number 61: Volcasaurus, using his effect to destroy Astro Mechanicle and deal my opponent the 4000 Life Points he had left to get me win.
